"I switched to this State Farm agency after being with GEICO for more than 10 years, bringing over three vehicles and our homeowners insurance. Unfortunately, the experience has made me regret switching.

Since signing up in June, there has been one communication issue after another. I disclosed an incident from 2023/2024 during the original quote, only to later learn that underwriting was increasing our rate because of that same incident. Had the potential rate change been clearly communicated before I canceled my previous coverage, I would not have switched.

We also explained that our home had already been purchased earlier in the year, yet we later received a call regarding inspecting our “new home” before we purchased it. I was told this was a third-party company, but customers should not have to figure out which part of the process belongs to State Farm versus a vendor. It is all part of the same customer experience.

I was also given a payment date that was supposedly being moved to June 28, only to receive communications reflecting different due dates.

Now, approximately TWO MONTHS after starting the policy, I received another call asking basic information about our home, including how many bedrooms we have. Why wasn’t this information properly collected and confirmed when the homeowners policy was established?

The most frustrating part is that we were considering moving coverage for additional properties to State Farm. Based on this experience, I am not comfortable doing so.

I am not looking for a credit, refund, special rate, or free service. I simply expect accurate information, consistent communication, proper documentation, and competent handling of our policies. Insurance is a service we PAY for, and customers should not have to repeatedly manage communication breakdowns between agents, underwriting, billing, and third-party vendors.

After more than a decade with my previous insurer, I expected switching companies to be relatively straightforward. Instead, this has been an unnecessarily frustrating experience and has left me seriously questioning my decision to switch.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the communication, training, and processes within the agency."
